SkillSwap – Trade Skills, Build Together
SkillSwap is a web-based platform that helps people exchange their skills to collaborate on projects, without needing money. The idea is simple: you create a profile, list what you can offer (e.g. web design, coding, marketing) and what you’re looking for — and the app helps match you with people who complement your needs. It works like a barter system for skills: “I offer design and need help with frontend,” or “I can do backend and need copywriting.” This gives people a way to collaborate fairly, grow together, and build cool things — even if they don’t have a budget. The goal is to create a tool that’s useful not just during the hackathon, but for freelancers, makers, students, and creatives everywhere who want to grow their projects by helping each other. In the future, SkillSwap could also offer: • A credit or reputation system • Community events or jam sessions • Verified user badges to build trust • Integration with no-code tools or AI matchmakingThe idea is inspired by my own experience: I recently finished Le Wagon’s Web Dev bootcamp and often want to build things with others, but don’t always know how to find the right person or ask for help. This platform is something I wish existed — so I want to build it now.
